Nothing really major going on, which is good. Got some positive and constructive feedback on that article for the next draft, and working towards my dissertation deadline. Got some TA work out of the way, and Declan has been healthy and happy and very sweet.
So, all in all, not a bad time.

i sort of wish someone would give me a dissertation deadline. i'm too good at procrastinating. the only deadline i'll have is for the final submission after i schedule my defense. i think my advisor (and the rest of my committee) has too much faith in my ability to self-impose deadlines. well, i give myself deadlines, and then i break them. they should just tell me they want my first two chapters by the end of august because i don't think i'll finish by then any other way.
I set this deadline myself, and told them about it. Perhaps that's what you should do. Make a time budget and give it to your advisor.
