Ta-Da!

Well, we are now in possession of a very fine, brand new baby. Robert Declan Murphy made his much anticipated arrival on February 29, 2008, at about 9.16pm, after a blessedly easy delivery. He spent a few days in the NICU, due to some fluid in his lungs, but he is now home and thriving - gaining weight, and feeding like a champ. He is a happy, healthy little boy, and we are so grateful for him, and for all the well wishes we have received.

He was circumcised by the Adas Israel community on Sunday, March 9, at 4pm, where we gave him the Hebrew name of Yishai ben Avram - "My gift, the son of Abraham."

We are getting a surprizing amount of sleep, my recovery is going very well, and we are thrilled with our new little addition, who returns all our affection and care with all the sweetness his little baby heart can muster.

We look forward to introducing him to you all, and are now ready for visitors as can be arranged. Thanks again for all your kind messages, etc. We are happy our son has such a community of friends to be welcomed into.
