I wrote the lead to my dissertation today. The first paragraph. The gripper. It wasn't the first bit I wrote in the thing; it's an important bit so I skipped it for a while. I needed time to make it a doozy. Today, it came to me while I was in the washroom running the tub for Declan's bath. I wrote it on the inside of a cardboard box. I think it's gripping enough.
Though I know it might not survive the editing process, I like it.
One step closer to being finished!
