I just got another birthday present!
We just got word. The Unit 2 Members of Local 3906 have completed their strike vote. The bargaining team for U2's new contract (representing sessional instructors and music instructors at McMaster) now has a CLEAR STRIKE MANDATE to take into the negotiations. This is very good news, as all the university was offering was a Big Screw You (0% wage increase, no benefit improvements, for three years). Now they may sing a different tune. We, as bargaining support members, must now focus on averting that strike through peaceful information demonstrations and showing that we support Mac's sessionals.
Congrats, U2, for voting against the status quo!
