Got a conference acceptance first thing this morning - yet another thing for the CV. See, the last time I applied for the Big Funding, last fall, I had nothing but one piddly unprofessional published essay and one upcoming conference. This time, I have three completed conferences (one a semi-important one), one forthcoming published book chapter, my comp exams finished, one more guest lecture engagement this month, one faculty of arts award, and now one upcoming conference. That is not bad progress, not bad at all.
I am starting to get a glimmer of hope that I might actually win something this year. As long as my proposal doesn't suck... But let's not think of that, ok?
