Clouds of fruit flies have taken over my apartment, and I have no idea why or from whence they are coming. I am doing all the normal stuff like taking out my recycling and garbage, and keeping the dishes and kitchen surfaces clean, etc., but they still keep coming. They are starting to feel like a curse of biblical proportions. Just when I seem to make headway, more come.
It is too close to the grander scheme of things in my life these days...

We were having fruit fly issues a few weeks ago.
I think it turned out to be from our home-grown cherry tomatoes. We would pick them and hang them in our fruit and vegetable basket. But we started washing as soon as we brought them in, and the flies began to go away.
